Simply one of the finest examples of gem Barite that we have seen. Not only is the color outstanding (the historic locality is well known for this shade but no longer produces rough), the cutting is extraordinary. The level of polish is unprecedented for a softer material - visually the stone would fool you into believing it was Danburite or Topaz, a harder material on which a higher polish is easier to attain. The size is also quite excellent for this old stock rough, together with the sheer perfection of the cutting, this gem is one of the finest examples of the species.
