There has been no production of this classic Malagasy ‘neon’ Apatite for years. This stone was cut from an old piece of rough that we set aside over a decade ago. While the color is heated, it remains the standard for these vivid Apatites; there are some Brazilian stones as well but they never seem to match the clarity and, in particular, the size possible from Malagasy stones. Very large and choice piece with just a touch of the classic haziness in strong transmitted light - not noticeable in face-up. Magnificent size and color.
