We have once or twice offered faceted gems in this highly unusual shade for Sri Lankan Diopside.  The color is a medium brown with a very slight and odd purplish modifier.  It seems to occur very infrequently in the gem gravels of Sri Lanka - far more familiar are the yellowish-greens.  This is, however, the first time that we have encountered this variety as a cat's eye gem.  And how nice it is!  The eye is sharp and well centered and contrasts nicely with the body of the stone - which is also very nicely translucent.  Really a great size and fine Sri Lankan oddity.
