Another piece of rough just back from cutting, these large, intensely colored Apatites hit the market nearly 10 years ago.  Since that time, small gems continue to be available but the supply of stones over 5 ct. has significantly decreased.  This unbelievably vivid color is the product of heating and is completely stable.  The cutting and polish are excellent and the stone has just a touch of the fine silk that is common in these - this is visible primarily when lighting the stone at an oblique angle.  Fine stone and a competitive price.
