Of all the various manifestations of Rhodochrosite as a gem material, this may well be the most difficult one to get in the highest of grades. The very best stones from Argentina combine the intense color of Colorado stones with the soft, glowing translucency of the best Japanese cabs. To find such a large example with no zoning or variation in translucency is quite difficult. Great polish, perfect US cutting and a great ethereal look overall.
