A unique example of a US mineral that we have offered on only a few occasions. Named for the famed Franklin deposits in Sussex Co., New Jersey, this stone has the classic appearance of Sterling Mine material. A Manganese borate mineral, Sussexite is fibrous in nature and soft (3 on the Moh’s scale) so it does not naturally lend itself to being a gem material. A fine example of an interesting rarity.
