One of our preferred sources for Hackmanite. Though the mineral is now known from several locales, and with a good bit of the Afghani material on the market, there is something special about the stones from Greenland. For one, they have an intense tenebrescence (UV induced color change), one of the most dramatic color changes possible. Greenlandic stones are capable of the deepest and most intense of purples after exposure to longwave UV. Beyond that however, you have the unusual natural color of the material - stones from Canada and other sources are generally colorless before UV exposure while these are actually a soft bluish-green. Quite different and even more interesting, if that is possible! This is a great example, one with quite a few areas of distinct gemminess - parts of the stone are fully transparent. Beautiful example.
