Very occasionally the quite rare mineral Musgravite is discovered among the gem gravels at this locale - much more common in the closely related Taaffeite but it does pay to look. These are typically included, but remain bright as the inclusions are generally low relief aside from a smattering of small graphite platelets. We had a very similar stone written up in Gems & Gemology many years ago (see here), but we have seen almost none since. Aside the stone’s extremely rare ID as Musgravite, this one has another little surprise - the crystalline inclusions are aligned as such to give a strong shimmering flash across the table of the stone. We imagine you would be hard pressed to locate another Musgravite that has this effect. Rare and fun! With mini report from GIT as well.
