A magnificent unheated ‘fancy’ Tanzanite. The size is superb, the cutting is very, very nicely done and the color is among the rarest and most attractive of all Zoisite hues. The primary modifier to the green hue is blue (as noted in the GIA report) though you will of course get a little slightly yellowish-green at some angles - courtesy of Zoisite’s trichroism. Crucially, there is no brownish modifier to muddy up the colors and the tone is so appealing, a bit richer than we usually see in the greens. Really a special piece cut from a fine and special piece of rough. Truly beautiful greens are exceedingly rare in larger sizes. A collection gem of the first order and so much rarer than its heated Tanzanite cousins.
