A gorgeous and extremely high quality example of Australian Boulder Opal. In terms of color coverage and full spectral display this one simply could not be any better. The colors are remarkable and need almost no additional lighting to be at full strength. Even more, the lovely Ironstone matrix is just below the surface and effortlessly provides a wonderful background to the colors. While the face is flat, the reverse is domed like a low cab - it is rather endearing how much the reverse looks like a coffee bean, so much so that it could be mounted to rotate and reveal its surprise. Lovely, lovely gem.
