A doubly phenomenal stone. We are always looking for fine stars, and we love color change Sapphire as well - so, it is always a pleasure to find a great stone that is both! As a purple star Sapphire this one is fine indeed - great size, saturated color and a sharp star. It just so happens that when the light source is changed to daylight, you have an equally fine violet-blue star Sapphire. As seems to be the case with color change stones only, the daylight color is rather unique and not something we usually see as a stand-alone color. Beautiful polish and with very little wasted weight below the girdle, we see so very few of these. Rather interestingly, there is a single included crystal (fine evidence of the stone’s unheated status) that can be seen in transmitted light - see the last photo. We tried to make this as apparent as possible to illustrate how low-relief it truly is. Not distracting, you really need to look for this top-down lighting to find it. All around, a superb stone.
