A rare gem in a fine quality. Ekanite is a rare stone classic - there is usually just a trickle of material in the market that comes primarily from Sri Lanka. It has the dubious distinction of being one of the few gems that are actually minimally radioactive. It is a very low level, generally stopped by a stone box or even a plastic bag, but still a nice conversation starter! This gem is a particularly fine example, well cut and very clean for this material with just a touch of the usual haziness that is due to the strain on the crystal structure.
