Bowenite is a variety of Antigorite, the name given to a type of Serpentine, the exact determination is actually extremely difficult to establish without the efforts of a gem lab. We have had fine green Antigorite from Indonesia before, but never one of these very attractive Taiwanese stones. The attraction here is the fine and unusual color, a very saturated yellow, a canary-like hue, which looks great with the hazy translucency of the stone. Very, very translucent for Antigorite and quite rare.
