An exceedingly obscure rarity, this intensely colored variety of the already scarce mineral Powellite is well documented as specimens from Atacama. What is quite unusual is to see an example of this variety faceted - they all have to been done by salvaging damaged specimens and finding someone willing to cut such an oddball thing. We have seen a few, all with this wonderful color but very rarely in this size. Really quite well done with some nice translucency to the stone.
