One of America's first and most storied gem deposits are the Tourmaline finds around Paris, Maine. This area continues to produce gem rough and the stones are tailor made for US locale collectors. Much of the material is tightly controlled and funneled through local outlets, so we rarely offer these. This stone is a bright and fine stone in a very saturated strongly bluish-green hue. There are a number of small inclusions, but finely scattered and not overly distracting. The cutting has a slight, almost imperceptible asymmetry on one side, it is slightly wider to keep the ‘jardin’ contained. More than made up for by the excellent larger size and a great color.
