This gem was part of a limited find of extremely attractive and gemmy colorless Scapolite with inclusions of electric blue Lazulite. Most of the material was quite problematic - the best areas of Lazulite were often very fractured or plagued with other, dark inclusions. Conversely, The clean gemmy areas of Scapolite were often lacking in Lazulite. A good deal of the material was cut as cabochons but we have seen a few that were fully faceted, as is the case here. The quality here is simply exceptional - truly the best we have ever seen as the Scapolite is completely gemmy and otherwise clean save for the great amount of bright Lazulite inclusions. As an additional treat, the Scapolite is highly fluorescent under longwave UV light. The type of unique gem material that is present in the market for a short time and then disappears entirely.
