A very fine example of a difficult species. Siderite is an iron mineral (the name derives from the Greek σιδηρος for iron) that only very rarely is found in gem quality. Fine faceted examples of Siderite are a classic rarity that are quite hard to source in today's market - the most well known locale being one of the world's largest tungsten mines at Panasqueira in Portugual. On all grounds, this is a collector's grade gem - for this level of clarity and cutting a stone of nearly two carats is quite rare. Absolutely diagnostic color for the species as well.
