A really beautifully done Mexican Opal with a fine degree of spectral fire. The stone has a lovely shape and is cut rather like a tablet, so its broad table is viewable from either side. Particularly intriguing is that the stone possess something of a contra-luz type property; the stone changes dramatically in transmitted light, showing a great deal more fire and even changing in transparency slightly. Fascinating and beautiful, two great qualities! Really a fine piece and rather unique as such.
