A simply exceptional stone from the deposits at Wollo. The play-of-color that this material is capable of is downright astonishing - broad patches of bright green, highlights of red and even blue and violet. Here, this remarkable display is set on a fantastic, large colorless body with an excellent level of translucency. Aside from the massive size, the pattern of the color here deserves special mention - this is known as a honeycomb pattern where the colors originate in these small hexagonal cells across the surface. Often considered one of the most desirable pattens we have noticed that stones with the honeycomb need even a little less light than normal to dazzle with color. Rare indeed is the low-light Opal. Beautiful collection size stone.
