An exceptionally fine gem Rhodochrosite from the often overlooked South African finds. These gems are typically not the bright pink of the gems from Colorado or China but are more familiar in a deep red hue. Only once or twice before have we been able to offer a primarily pink South African stone. It is quite unusual to see this - and indeed there is an unmistakable reddish modifier here which serves to really saturate this color. A connoisseur would likely be able to spot this as non-Colorado, but it is definitely close! Beautiful precision cutting and clean, a rare and fine color for these.
