From the highly unusual and small find of this material at Colombia's Muzo Mine comes this rare example of very light blue Dolomite. This find was written up over a decade ago (see our photo, Gems and Gemology Winter 2011) and we have seen no more material since. As is too often the case with rare stones, there is a very limited window of availability and then the variety may simply be gone from the marketplace forever. A rare and attractive piece.
