The recent production of some unusual Kornerupine’s has been welcomed by fans of this species. The Tanzanian stones can be a lovely minty shade of green, not something we are used to at all with Kornerupine. Most of these are quite light and look similar to grossular garnets. We have seen a few that are a bit more intensely colored - as is the case here. Rather than medium light, the tone here is medium and the hue a touch more saturated than most. Gorgeous cutting as a fine round and excellent 1+ carat size; almost loupe clean as well, there are a tiny few wispy needles near one edge. Amazaing color for the species.
