A singular gem which is something of a play on the asteriated Diamonds that have been well documented of late. Here, the hydrogen clouds have formed a kind of three-armed ‘star’ pointing to, rather than radiating from, the center of the stone. The crystal itself is a macle, so the shape works quite well as a polished freeform that makes for a portrait cut appearance. The size is great and the pattern is extremely distinct from the surrounding gem (the clouds can sometimes be quite light and a bit hard to discern at a distance). It is an effect that grabs from across the room - the stone is essentially double-sided so you could set it in a number of orientations. An odd pattern that we have not seen before and quite rare as such. With GIA report as well.
