Though not terribly large, this has to be one of the more successful examples of a close-to-ideal Winza Sapphire. With a perfect blue on the top and a distinct purple-pink on the bottom, this approaches the famous ‘Ruby/Sapphire’ combination that is the stuff of Tanzanian legend. The vast majority of these have inky, over-dark blues with spotty reddish zones, rarely are they so well demarcated. Add to that a fine, and much above the norm, custom cut and you have a lovely example of a famous find.
