Now this is an interesting one. You may have seen us offer a few of the scarce orange examples of this species - this is a heated color which can be achieved in a small percentage of mostly colorless gems. Much more unusual is the successful heating of a stone that is a colorless/blue bi-color; resulting in an orange/blue bicolor gem. Certainly one of the rarest obtainable color varieties. Beyond this however, is this stone; the particular mixing of colors resulting in a slight purplish look at certain angles. Now, this is not the legendery ‘purple’ Benitoite that has been whispered about for decades, but it is the closest we have ever seen. Clearly seen as special, the cutting is a US precision job as well. Moreover, the stone is clean and of a VERY respectable size for a heated/orange stone. Wild and special.
