Quite simply one of the rarest faceted stones in world, gem Carletonite comes only from Mont Saint-Hilaire in Quebec. Nearly all faceted examples or rough now comes from old collections and we haven’t offered this species in many years. The color is quite beautiful but the gem is soft, brittle and extremely difficult to facet - all of which adds to its rarity. This one is remarkably good - the beautiful symmetry of the cut and fine polish make it among the best we have ever seen. Essentially unavailable in the market.
