25.11 ct. Australian Prehnite

A very sizable faceted Prehnite cut from old Australian stock.  This is crucial as the color of Australian Prehnite can be much more intense than that of Mali material, the later being much more common on the market now.  An intense chartreuse shade, at over 25 ct. this gem is very large for Prehnite from any locality.  The rough to cut gems of this magnitude was available for just a short period and these are almost never available any longer.  It has been cut with radiant type facets on the pavilion, so it do have a very respectable amount of brilliance - rare for this typically sleepy species.  The small white area is a bit of mineral inclusion (likely Natrolite) and is wholly within the gem.  An impressive, sizable gem great for the collection or a custom piece of jewelry.
