A large and attractive gem Orthoclase just back from cutting.  This Malagasy material was once fairly available on the market, but has largely dried up in the last few years.  Orthoclase (as a Feldspar) does not have the highest of optical properties, but is capable of producing brilliant and pleasantly colored gems - particularly in larger sizes - while remaining quite affordable for a completely natural material.
