0.60 ct. Faceted Ethiopian Opal

We only rarely encounter this material faceted - much more typical are freeform cabochon stones.  That is really too bad as they are capable of producing stunning stones.  This gem is an absolute fireball - very strong play of color over the entire stone and from all angles.  It has an exceptional life and appearance under all lighting conditions.  And since opal is such a light gem, it faces up considerably larger than the 0.60 ct. weight would have you believe.  Great looking piece.
