1.83 ct. Himalaya Mine Pink Tourmaline

It is very difficult to find a more classic gem material than pink Tourmaline from California's famous Himalaya Mine.  This is the mine whose production was sent to China in the late 19th century for sole use of the Empress who adored the material.  Later in its life the mine produced some of the very best Tourmaline mineral specimens that the world has seen.  Though only sporadically worked today it is possible to find the odd piece of rough that has turned up on a 'fee for dig' expedition.  Such is the case with this stone, the absolute classic hot pink shade that the mine is world renowned for.  Add some custom US cutting and you have a superb stone - a great collection piece or for a special piece of jewelry.
