0.23 ct. New York Hexagonite
A superbly rare US gemstone. This highly unusual purple variety of Tremolite is found only at this locality - the color is a beautiful magenta shaded caused by Manganese. The deposit is old and quite limited, any piece that displays the least bit of gem quality material is rare. Tremolite is extremely difficult to cut, and given the rarity of the material this stone was cut to save weight and insure that it would survive the cutting process. We have elected to take a very magnified photo to the show the veils present, despite these the clarity is extremely nice for the material - the stone has a nice gemmy quality and that lovely, distinctive color. A great rarity. $275 total |
