1.72 ct. Nevada Wood Opal

From the famous deposits in Nevada's Virgin Valley comes this excellent example of an opalized wood fragment.  The contrast in this material is excellent - wood grain along side of opal's play of color.  The opal has completely replaced the material between the wood and is quite colorful - lots of greens and blues face up and a considerable amount of red along the edges.  We hand selected this one (as we do with all the stones) for it it's overall appearance from a lot of finished goods.
