11.96 ct. Quartz with Gem Tourmaline

Tourmaline is not the rarest of mineral inclusions in Quartz - in fact, one of the most well known inclusion gems is Quartz with thin, black needles of Tourmaline.  What is exceptionally unusual however is the presence of large, gem quality Tourmaline crystals as inclusions in Quartz.  This stone, from a recent Brazilian find, is one of the few very fine examples we have seen.  The crystals of Tourmaline are not only a superb bluish-green, but are in fact gem quality in and of themselves.  Additionally, the stone features these in a very artistic way and has a fantastic overall appearance.  Beautiful piece.
