2.70 ct. Brazilian Blue Kyanite

This Kyanite has an attractive and light tone greenish-blue bodycolor, but what particularly interesting is the unique way in which the color is concentrated in 'clouds' throughout the stone.  Color zoning is fairly common in Kyanite, but in this way is actually quite rare - we have only seen it in a handful of Brazilian pieces.  Moreover, the stone is clean and free from both abrasions and the visible cleavage planes that sometimes plague this material.  Intriguing piece for the gemologist.
