0.53 ct. Benitoite

Always a popular gem, Benitoite is both a fantastic gem and a single source material - San Benito Co., California.  This gem is extremely bright and a lovely color, a fine blue but still light enough to highlight the considerable optical properties of the species.  The cutting is excellent and the stone is completely clean - both fine attributes in a stone of over 1/2 carat.  As you likely know, the mine has stopped commercially producing gems and supplies have tightened dramatically.
