Iolite has only recently attained some appreciation by jewelry consumers.  Often used as a substitute for Sapphire, it is a beautiful stone of its own accord.  It is fairly abundant in smaller sizes, but the rarity of Iolite increases considerably above 5 and again above 10 carats.  Perfect in cut and color, this is one of the finest large Iolites we have seen.  A stunning stone.
