27.52 ct. 'Llanite'
Named for its single occurence in Llano Co., Texas, this material makes for an interesting cabochon gem. The stone is a rhyolite matrix containing Feldspar (the pink sections) and Quartz crystals (the blue). The Quartz crystals contain Ilmenite inclusions and have an adularescent quality. As the stone is rotated a billowy flash can be seen in each of the Quartz sections. The appearance is close to what you seen in Moonstone. Very interesting and certainly a unique material. $30 total |
